I would be a great asset to your organization.I’m passionate and energetic, a great communicator, and have been teaching for over 20 years with the last 4 being online. Teaching for me is not just imparting knowledge but it’s also making a difference in someone’s life. I compare the process of learning to that of building a bridge. It’s built piece by piece but when it’s completed it can carry you to new and exciting places.

Describe your teaching and tutoring experience?

I've been an online ESL teacher since 2018 and have taught over 6,800 classes online. Prior to that I was a certified substitute teacher for K-12 and a private music instructor.

Tell us about yourself. What are your interests outside of school? What else would students enjoy knowing about you?

I play acoustic guitar, electric guitar and ukulele. I perform part-time in a jazz quartet, a 3 piece blues-rock band and an acoustic Americana trio. I have studied fine art at the graduate level and I like to work in watercolor and pen & ink. I've also written and illustrated two original children's books in pen & ink.

What makes you an awesome Tutor? Describe any experience, qualifications or strategies here?

I have PMA (a positive mental attitude) and strive to be compassionate, patient and empathetic with my students. I use TPR ( total physical response) during class and being a musician I utilize the ukulele in  when teaching phonics, pronunciation  and phrasing. Music can also be used to warm up to the student and I have done that many times with both juniors and adults.
