Joey Florez

I believe that education is one of the greatest gifts we can give the generations that follow us. It is an investment in our future as well as theirs, and as such, I aim to instill a love of learning and encourage curiosity in my students. I think a good teacher doesn't change or try to convince a student of a learning style or ideology, but is cognizant of the strengths the student brings with them and works to highlight and enhance those. I've been lucky to study with some great professors at my undergraduate university Georgia Gwinnett college, just north of Atlanta, GA. I was encouraged to develop myself as best as possible according to my standards (no one else can tell you what makes you great). That journey is taking me to Cambridge, MA where I will earn an MFA in Creative Writing. I hope to then teach at a university towards helping young minds find their way.
