Describe your teaching and tutoring experience?

I have been a private tutor for 4 years now in both elementary and middle school math and in English. I have a TESOL Certification and a Bachelor's degree in French. I have worked in Poland with Angloville to teach English as a second language, and I currently have a part-time job teaching English to Korean students. I have excellent editing and writing skills and was the Editor-in-chief at my college newspaper. I have worked with students from ages 10-18 and can work with any level.

Tell us about yourself. What are your interests outside of school? What else would students enjoy knowing about you?

I love fencing, or playing with swords, and I do historical fencing because I deeply enjoy Medieval and Renaissance history. I have 13 dogs and 3 birds whom I care about greatly and who bring me great joy. 

What makes you an awesome Tutor? Describe any experience, qualifications or strategies here?

I speak a second language, French, and I think that that gives me great insight into the mind of my students, as I understand the challenges. For strategies, I love to use newspaper articles because they give a better sense of the language than a textbook, and I use applied English to work on conversational skills. For grammar and vocabulary, I like to use both worksheets and props.
