Describe your teaching and tutoring experience?

I have taught English as a native English teacher through the English Program In Korea (EPIK) for five years. For the first four years, I taught levels from elementary through high school, mostly focusing on elementary school. I taught basic English along with phonics to the elementary school students. For the middle school and high school classes, I mostly taught conversational English as well as administered speaking evaluations. Last year, I taught at a middle school and a high school. I provided different conversational English lessons based off the book provided to most of my classes. However, for two of my high school classes, I created my own lesson plans. For my high school second year students, I created cultural English classes. I created the curriculum for the entire school year. There were projects and speaking evaluations throughout the class. I also created lessson plans for my business English class and created projects for the students to do either as a group or alone as well as administered speaking evaluations. For all of my lessons that I taught, I created and administered speaking evaluations based off the lessons that was learned during class. I also created the rubric that was used to grade them. 

Tell us about yourself. What are your interests outside of school? What else would students enjoy knowing about you?

I enjoy crocheting and singing. During my time in South Korea, I spent a lot of time at the coin karaoke. In addition, I love all different types of music. For example, I love K-Pop, but also love classic rock and hip-hop. I am a thrill seeker and enjoy extreme sports like ziplining and riding ATVs. I also love to travel. I have traveled to several countries alone and along with friends.

What makes you an awesome Tutor? Describe any experience, qualifications or strategies here?

My perseverance makes me a an awesome tutor. I will not give up on my students no matter how frustrated they may get with the learning process. I will help them to work on any problem areas they have happily. I also have taught English for a while and have the experience to help whomever I teach. I am confident that my personality and experience make me the best candidate as an ESL teacher.
