About Me

I have 4 years of teaching experience with beginner and intermediate-level adult ESL students, both online and offline. I strongly believe that students should have an active input in the methods of their learning. Sharing ideas across cultures, especially unfamiliar ones, is incredibly important to me. I also believe that students, even adult students, deserve to learn in an enjoyable and engaging way. Our classroom will a safe space to 1) make mistakes, 2) learn from those mistakes, and 3) gain confidence from understanding those mistakes. I want you to leave my class with improved small talk skills, better organization in your writing, the habit of self-correcting your English, and more!

Describe your teaching and tutoring experience?

Outside of tutoring here, I currently work with adult students at a local ESL school, where I've taught students from Brazil, China, Japan, India, and more for four years. My time at this school has helped me learn how to support beginner adult students who are struggling to understand the basics of English.

Also, I taught English for 3 years in Japan and can speak conversational Japanese!

What makes you an awesome Tutor? Describe any experience, qualifications or strategies here?

Personality-wise, my strengths are my patience, kindness, and ability to listen. I am a teacher, but I'm also a person who wants to learn about my students' cultures and personal experiences.

In my lessons, I teach writing and grammar the best, and I love doing games with my students to help them learn. However, I'm also flexible if you want a more structured lesson plan.
